The artwork depicts Filipino UK nurses on the COVID frontlines. Teary eyed, scarred faces symbolize perseverance, bravery, and hope. Red and blue represent patriotism, peace, and justice. Floral symbols include Sampaguita and the English rose, honouring fallen nurses. Three golden stars represent Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, the major island groups in the Philippines. Ethnic motifs and textiles showcase the richness of the country's culture and values (Ifugao, Cebuano, Marana and Yakan ethnic groups). Filipino Nurses' embrace their heritage that fuels their bravery and resilience during these unprecedented times.
